If anyone wants to take a look at my bios, i can upload/email on request. My question is, does anyone see a red flag with what im doing? Is there any other parameter besides thermal limits, clocks, and fan speeds i can modify? Like i said, very new, and advice is appreciated. Idle temp is 42c, after 3 hours of games, I hit 64c, 65% fan speed. Im using the stock fan profile, tweaking with precision to see what it likes for temps, then i hope to build that fan profile into the bios, so i can eliminate precision all together.

Ive been running it as my full time overclock for a day an a bit now, running Valley, bf4, WoW, NfS, and have had no problems at all. I am very noob-y in this area, but I do have a few years of cpu modding experience, so I understand the basics of overclocking. When you get to stable clocks I would use all 3 programs, furmark, valley and 3dmark and run them for at least 30 minutes(furmark maybe still 20) and if theres no problems start playing games, cause sometimes OC might seem stable in those programs but wont be in gaming which would mean you still need to decrease it.I managed to sucessfully make my first custom bios. When you first start noticing artifacts and other signs of instability add for example 10mV to voltage, if it still not stable add 10mV more BUT if its till not stable get voltage to stock and start decreasing by 10MHz on core and 20 on memory. I can get it to 1367 MHz boost, which translates to 1418 MHz ingame. I have an EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 (model 04G-P4-2974-KR) and it's a pretty disappointing overclocker on the core (but not too bad on memory). It should almost always offer more performance in games. An unstable overclock with usually crash the driver or bluescreen. A 970 should be very stable too unlike an older card or GPU.

I didnt get any help in my topic about my 970 Strix problems and ended up rmaing the card so maybe I can advice someone else.įirst of all my card that is under warranty now is 970 Strix OC, I am 100% certain you could add more voltage, all you had to do in Afterburner is to go to options and check "enable voltage control" and then slider in main windows is active so you can increase it, I think you could do around 37mV more than standard voltage but I wouldnt go for more than 10-20mV. Yeah games that push full GPU loads usually crash manual overclocks but not normally factory overclocked models.
